The price depends on what state you are from or what department you are approaching.
For example; if you are approaching the Indian Army, there is no charge to it. As a matter of fact, they will find it an honor to help you.
But the same perspective, if you subject to that of the Indian police (not the IPS class, as most of them are not in the bribe business), you are in deep trouble.
You may have to sell everything, including your kidneys depending on the situation.
You may think I am exaggerating but I am not.
There is an incident that happened in Siliguri, a small town in the North of Bengal. An accident happened, which is not a big deal in India considering the road construction strategy in India.
Now, the deal that’s bothering here is the fact that the police are pressurizing both the parties to file a case on each other.
I am writing this because I know the person, personally, who died in the accident. And filing a case on him accusing him of reckless driving is one of the most bizarre things that the police have comprehended.
And the police are repeatedly asking the deceased party to file a case at the opposite party.
Is this really how justice in India works? If that is the case, we definitely have to have a strong set of rules for the administrative (the police force in this reference) system to follow.
I am no Sherlock but even I know what’s been happening here. The police are trying to file a case on both parties so they can come to a negotiating phrase.
And, they, being the mediator, can scavenge up some real good profit out of the disaster.
I know, what this thing will be in the end. A topic that’s long forgotten by the public as this doesn’t concern them.
My question is, how many times we are going to let go of the situation just because it’s not something that concerns us?
Shall we wait for the incident to be a part of our own brethren or family?
If not today then when are going to shout out loud and say “enough is enough”!
I say, let’s make this the last manipulative statement that the police force in India can make fun out of. Let’s end this and say that we did make a difference in society.
Again, we need a nation where the police are for our own protection and not a government branch to exploit the subtleness in us just because they can.
